Become a Fast ForWord provider
Information for health and education professionals
Unlike most interventions that work around the underlying weaknesses that cause learning difficulties, Fast ForWord targets the foundational cognitive skills required for reading and learning: working memory, attention, auditory processing, and sequencing.
ClearFluency (previously called Reading Assistant) is an online personal, interactive reading tutor. Using cutting-edge voice recognition technology, ClearFluency actually “listens” to students read and intervenes when they get stuck.

Designed for students falling through the cracks
Fast ForWord is especially designed for students who are falling through the cracks. Rather than giving them more of the same thing that hasn’t been working for them, Fast ForWord is designed to improve their ability to learn by improving how they process information.

FAQs
Do you have a question? Chances are someone has asked it before!
What age is Fast ForWord suitable for?
This program is generally suitable for students in Prep (Pre-Primary/Reception) and above. Suitability will depend on skill level and our team can help if you’re not sure.
What age is ClearFluency suitable for?
ClearFluency is generally suitable for students who can read at a speed of at least 40 words per minute (at their comfortable reading level) and are in Prep (Pre-Primary / Reception) and above.
Will this program also improve reading skills?
There are eight Fast ForWord programs that train the cognitive skills needed for classroom learning, the cognitive foundations for reading, as well as language processing and reading skills. See all Fast ForWord programs here.
How long do students need to complete the program?
Every individual is different, so the time spent on each program will also vary. As a guide, completing the two programs required usually takes approximately 4 months, but may take somewhere between 3 and 6 months. We recommend that each student begin with a minimum of a 3 month license, and then extends their course from there if they need to.
How many students should I enrol each year?
To keep your provider status current, you need to implement Fast ForWord with at least 5 students each year. If you implement the
program with fewer students, you’ll need to complete refresher training (online and free of charge).
What technology do students need?
Fast ForWord programs can be used on most Windows and Mac computers through an internet browser (we recommend Google
Chrome browser), as well as on iPad with iOS 11.3 or later. Headphones are recommended to help the student concentrate (we recommend stereo headphones that cover the whole ear, such as these ones from Altronics). Parents monitoring their children should use a headphone double adaptor so they can also hear the sound.
ClearFluency can be used on most Windows and Mac computers through your internet browser (we recommend Google Chrome browser). It’s compatible with iPad but we don’t recommend using an iPad as the text tends to be small and it’s difficult to get a headset compatible with iPad and ClearFluency in Australia. You’ll need a Logitech H390 or Microsoft Lifechat LX-3000 headset to use ClearFluency. These headsets have a USB connection that includes an inbuilt sound card to ensure a high quality signal and have been tested and approved by the developers.
