What families say about our programs
It was such a breath of fresh air to finally be using a program that was addressing the underlying reasons as to why Jamie was struggling at school. We felt a huge weight lifted off our shoulders.
Clare, TAS
Being able to do something every day to help train the brain is important and we were keen to retrain Matilda’s brain when it came to processing sounds and words.
Megan, VIC
I like the immediate feedback that Kylah got at the end of each lesson. She could see her progress and we could celebrate her high scores and progress together.
Cara, WA
Fast ForWord is a program that has endless patience. If it sees me struggling it slows down and it doesn’t matter how long I need, it will give me that time to grasp the concept I’m being presented with.
Alexandra, QLD
My husband’s progress has proved the amazing plasticity of the brain.

FAQs
Do you have a question? Chances are someone has asked it before!
What age is the 6 week reading boost suitable for?
This program is suitable for students in year 1 and above (yes, adults love these programs too). Students need to be able to read CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words such as bob, cat, cap and mug to train on Fast ForWord Reading 1, however children who do not have this skill can participate in a preparation program called Fast ForWord Reading Readiness. Adults might start on the last program in the series, Fast ForWord Reading Comprehension. If you are unsure about your child’s suitability for the program please contact us on 1300 135 334.
Will this program also improve cognitive skills?
Fast ForWord Reading programs include components that train cognitive skills, however their main focus is on reading skills. If your child has difficulties with auditory processing, memory, sequencing, attention, following instructions or language, we recommend beginning with Fast ForWord processing training before moving to a reading boost program.
When does the course begin and end?
Your course will begin on your first training day and end 6 weeks later. The Sonic Learning team will monitor and adjust your program during this time as needed. You will have unlimited access and do not need to worry about running out of exercises to do.
Can I purchase additional training time?
Yes, at the end of the 6 weeks you may purchase additional training time at a discounted rate:
- 1 month: $330
- 2 months:
$660$560 – $100 discount - 3 months:
$990$840 – $150 discount
Discounts apply for extensions purchased for two children (10% discount) or three children (15%) when purchased at the same time.
How long does it take to complete one Fast ForWord Reading program?
What technology do I need?
Fast ForWord programs can be used on most Windows and Mac computers through your internet browser (we recommend Google Chrome browser), as well as on iPad with iOS 11.3 or later. Headphones are recommended to help the student concentrate (we recommend stereo headphones that cover the whole ear, examples on this page). Parents monitoring their children should use a headphone double adaptor so they can also hear the sound as described on this page.
