Cogmed FAQs
What age is Cogmed suitable for?
This program is generally suitable for students in Prep (Pre-Primary / Reception) and above. Suitability will depend on skill level. If you are unsure about your child’s suitability for the program please book a free professional consult.
What does it look like?
Check out our Cogmed demo video to see what the exercises are like.
Is Cogmed backed by research?
This is a really important question to ask when you’re deciding on a program to use. Cogmed is one of the most highly researched programs out there – check out more on the research page.
Will this program also improve reading skills?
Cogmed is focused on working memory and attention only. Once you’ve built these cognitive skills, you might like to enrol in one of our reading programs.
Can I use my NDIS funding?
As these programs are delivered by health and education professionals, we can provide NDIS-friendly billing for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. If you’re new to our programs you will need to enrol in our NDIS course which includes weekly consults to ensure you receive the support you need for optimal results. After the initial 3 months, you’ll also be able to access larger discounts on training extensions.
When does the course begin and end?
Your course will begin on your first training day and end once you have finished all the Cogmed content (6 – 14 weeks depending on your chosen protocol). Your program coach will provide 6 coaching calls, spread out across your course. If you miss sessions and run out of coaching calls before you’ve finished Cogmed, you will be able to complete the course in your own time.
How long will I need to complete the program?
You’ll need 6 – 14 weeks depending on your chosen protocol (25 or 35 minutes per day, 3 – 5 days per week).
What technology do I need?
Cogmed can be used on most Windows and Mac computers as well as iPads and some newer Android tablets. It is accessed through your internet browser (we recommend Google Chrome browser). Headphones are recommended to help you concentrate (we recommend stereo headphones that cover the whole ear, such as these ones from Altronics). Parents monitoring their children should use a headphone double adaptor so they can also hear the sound.
How do I enrol?
