Dr Martha Burns, Speech Pathologist and Neuroscientist, discusses how Fast ForWord cognitive training can complement speech therapy interventions.
“Before we had tools like Fast ForWord, it would take me years to move a child’s speech and language into the normal range if the child was severely impaired,” says Dr Burns. “Fast ForWord is like getting a booster shot, getting the child accelerated to the point where the therapy is easier, faster. It makes the speech therapy work better – it’s not a substitute but it makes the therapy more effective.”
